Ever since childhood, I have been fascinated by Japanese ACG (Anime, Comics, and Games) culture, deeply drawn to its unique worldviews and modes of expression. While majoring in Japanese language studies in China, my desire to learn about the society and ways of thinking behind the language through direct, firsthand experience grew steadily stronger, ultimately solidifying my decision to study in Japan.

My primary reason for choosing Konan Women’s University is, above all, my strong interest in the environment of a women’s university itself. I believe a setting where women from diverse backgrounds gather, inspire each other, and grow together is ideal for broadening my perspectives and fostering independence.

Academically, I aim to further develop the research for my graduation thesis during my time in Japan. I hope to encounter proverbs and everyday expressions actually used in Japan and incorporate the distinctly “Japanese way of seeing things”—something difficult to grasp from texts alone—into my work. Additionally, one of my important goals is to personally experience the distinctive teaching style of Japanese universities, which emphasizes student discussions and presentations.

On a personal level, I wish to actively engage in local life and enhance my intercultural communication skills. By participating in community events and interacting with Japanese students, I hope to move beyond the “international student” label and understand Japan more deeply as someone living within its society. I believe this experience will lay a solid foundation for my dream of eventually working in a role that serves as a bridge between China and Japan.

I am committed to making the most of my precious time at Konan Women’s University, striving for growth both academically and personally.
