The reason I decided to study in Japan stems from my deep interest in the history of Japan’s economic development and its unique economic system. Although Japan is a major economic power in Asia, it also faces modern challenges such as social security reform, an aging and declining population, and the revitalization of regional economies. I have become eager to systematically study how Japan addresses these complex economic issues through policy measures and data analysis at a Japanese university.
Furthermore, Japanese universities offer not only theoretical education, but also practical learning based on empirical analysis and real-world economic policies. Their curricula cover a wide range of fields, including microeconomics, macroeconomics, public economics, and monetary policy. I aspire to contribute to the development of economic policy and private-sector economic activities in my home country in the future, and I believe that studying in Japan will equip me with the necessary knowledge and analytical skills to achieve this goal.
In addition, I believe that Japan is not only advanced in terms of its economy, but also has a well-developed cultural and social system. Living in such a multicultural environment will broaden my perspective. I am also highly motivated to learn the Japanese language, and I hope to enhance my ability to comprehend economic data and academic papers written in Japanese.

I spend an incredible time as an exchange student majoring in Business Administration at the University of Hyogo in Kobe. It is undoubtedly the most intense and fulfilling period of my college life, leaving me with the profound feeling that taking this leap was the absolute best decision I could have made.
On the academic side, I actively participate in several highly practical and engaging courses, including seminar, "Fieldwork Methodology," and "Regional Management Theory." Moving beyond just reading textbooks in a classroom, the approach of analyzing regional challenges and management styles while directly experiencing the local atmosphere was a continuous series of fresh discoveries that deeply stimulated my intellectual curiosity. Thanks to the professor, who guided me with such passion and kindness, and my classmates, who always welcomed me with warm smiles, every group project and discussion was genuinely enjoyable. The time spent with them gifted me something far greater than academic knowledge—it gives me wonderful, border-transcending bonds that I will treasure forever.
Kobe, the base of my daily life, completely stole my heart with its beautiful, sophisticated streets nestled perfectly between the sea and the mountains, quickly becoming a place where I felt deeply at home. One of the most unforgettable highlights of my campus life was participating in the university's school festival. Experiencing the vibrant energy and lively atmosphere unique to Japanese university festivals firsthand, while walking around the food stalls and trying all kinds of delicious treats, is a bustling, joyful memory I will always cherish.
Determined to make the absolute most of this precious opportunity, I also took every chance on my days off to venture out and explore. I thoroughly explored the Kansai region where I was based, and also extended my travels to the Tokyo metropolitan area, nearby Kanto regions, and several prefectures in Kyushu. Healing my soul with beautiful landscapes and immersing myself in local cultures and cuisines across the country allowed me to deeply understand the diverse charms of Japan, and I feel that my perspective as a person has broadened immensely. Carrying the knowledge I gained, the wonderful people I met, and the courage I found in taking on new challenges, I am excited to keep moving forward, one step at a time.

Reflecting on my exchange program at the University of Hyogo, I find myself standing on the threshold of completing my Master’s degree in Japanese Translation at Soochow University. Looking back on exchange program, I am deeply struck by the profound impact this journey has had on my growth. This experience served as a pivotal turning point, allowing me to transcend mere language acquisition and integrate professional expertise with practical application.
From the perspective of Business Administration, my participation in seminar and courses such as "Fieldwork Methodology" and "Regional Management Theory" allowed me to grasp the dynamism of "living management" beyond theoretical memorization. By analyzing the real-world challenges facing Japanese local communities and the strategic approaches businesses take to address them, I gained a drastically deeper understanding of the sophisticated logic and meticulous business customs unique to Japan. The process of visiting sites and deepening my thoughts through direct dialogue with stakeholders taught me to look beyond the surface, and decipher the underlying structures and intentions of any given situation.
This academic foundation in business yielded significant achievements from a translation perspective as well. I have come to realize that the essence of translation lies not in the mechanical substitution of words, but in accurate contextual understanding rooted in domain-specific knowledge. Immersing myself in the actual business and regional management environments in Japan provided me with a robust foundation to capture a speaker’s true intent and elevate it into natural, persuasive expressions that account for cultural nuances. Acquiring this fundamental stance—that true communication can only be supported by the validation of professional knowledge—is a source of great pride as I aspire to become a specialist in the field.
These experiences have had an immeasurably positive influence on my future career and life. Moving forward, I do not wish to be a professional who merely provides technical translation skills; rather, I aim to be a "true bridge" capable of identifying the genuine needs of both parties and creating optimal value within a business context by leveraging my combined expertise in management and linguistics. With the flexible thinking I cultivated while exploring various regions of Japan and the confidence I gained from forging my own path in an unfamiliar environment, I am committed to continuous self-improvement and to contributing sincerely to the economic and social development of both China and Japan.
