Opportunity of the studying abroad, purpose

The reason I started studying abroad was my experience of attending an international school when I was a child. At the international school, I made friends of various nationalities and was able to experience various cultures. When you find something unfamiliar or new, you become more curious, and you will want to learn more. And I also began to want to convey Japanese culture abroad in the future.
The reason why I want to study abroad is because I want to improve my own humanity. I would like to work in a global environment in the future, and I would like to get a job at a Korean company that is especially interested in culture and history among Asian countries. And I believe that the experience of studying abroad is particularly promising for the growth of these three humanities: "activity," "patience to accomplish it," and "challenge. "Therefore, for me, who is thinking a getting a job in a global environment in the future, I think the above three results of studying abroad will be very useful in my career. I thought that active attitude "action ability" can be utilized to improve my work skills by fulfil gain and learn at work, and that "challenge" to take action and "patience" to carry out the action in a global environment that requires a lot of self-assertion.
In addition, I want to live a life with new experiences and excitement every day because my goal is to be able to be satisfied with my life without regret. "Studying abroad" requires and requires understanding of diversity, adaptability to the place, and self -assertion as a source of communication, and I believe that the experience of living in such an environment can expect internal growth and aim to enhance my life in the future.

Experience while studying abroad

During my stay in South Korea, I studied Japan and Korea, especially in the fields of history and literature. Learning about Japan from a Korean perspective was a new experience for me, and it was a very good opportunity for me to acquire new knowledge in a field that even Japanese people rarely have the chance to learn about. Although there were many times when it was difficult for me to be there, I was able to learn about the history of Japan and Korea and the Japanization of Korean culture, which was changed or forced to be changed by the history of Japan and Korea. I feel that through these lectures, I was able to learn to deepen my understanding of diversity.

Results of study abroad, future goals

Through this year of study abroad, I was able to learn not only about cultural differences, but especially about differences in “consciousness,” which is the essence of human nature. The first time I was able to feel this difference in “consciousness” was during an election campaign in the South Korean political scene. In Japan, there are a variety of initiatives such as media coverage and campaign cars during elections, but the voter turnout rate is low, especially among students, including working people, and the lack of awareness of political participation has been taken up as a social problem. However, in South Korea, campaign cars are seen almost every day, and all information about the election and the candidates are reported on TV stations, I felt that political awareness is very different from that in Japan, with students posting photos of their completed votes on Instagram and other social media. When I asked my friends about voting, they all replied that it was strange for them not to participate in an election because it was their country's matter, and I was keenly aware of the difference in public awareness regarding politics. I believe that this difference in national awareness is deeply influenced by the past history, and that the people of Japan have learned and communicated the various histories, such as the period of colonial rule and the Japan-Korea annexation, to deepen their awareness that they themselves build their own country, which has led to their participation in politics and their awareness of politics. I thought that this helped to deepen their awareness that they themselves were responsible for building their own country. In addition, anti-Japanese education is an element that has particularly influenced the national consciousness of Koreans, and I thought that learning about the history of damage from an early age would be a good way to create a sense of unity and a recognition that one's own country is something that one can continue to build.
During my study abroad in Korea, emergency martial law was declared for the first time in 45 years, and many actions related to politics took place in South Korea, including a large-scale demonstration in Han River and many scenes where the people moved on their own. I was keenly aware of the difference in public awareness of politics, including the fact that I actually encountered such events. In addition, because South Korea has a compassionate culture, I often felt in my daily life that the South Korean people think not only about politics but also about social news and other events that are not related to them, putting themselves in their own shoes. During this one-year study abroad program, I learned many things in terms of both study and daily life, and I was able to have a very fulfilling study abroad experience with much to gain. I am grateful that I am blessed to be in an environment where I can learn in this way, and I will continue to study hard every day so that I can grow as a person and become a woman who can contribute to society.
