Opportunity of the studying abroad, purpose

The reason why I have decided to study abroad is because of my deep interest in Japanese culture and society. In particular, I am interested in Japanese pop culture such as anime and manga, and I find anime particularly fascinating. Additionally, I want to improve my Japanese language skills to be able to better understand and appreciate Japanese culture, including anime. Through studying abroad, I hope to learn more about Japanese language and culture, and to grow as an individual through interacting with people from different cultural backgrounds.

The purpose of studying abroad is to enhance my Japanese language skills through the rich educational program at Kobe Women's University. Furthermore, I aim to deepen my understanding of Japanese culture and society, and to develop an international perspective. Additionally, through interaction with diverse individuals, including those from different cultural backgrounds, I intend to improve my communication skills and grow as an individual. In the future, I hope to utilize my knowledge of anime and Japanese culture to connect the cultures and industries of Japan and my home country.

Experience while studying abroad

During my four months of study abroad at Kobe Women's University, I had a truly enriching experience. I took Japanese Language I and Japanese Language III courses, which improved my Japanese writing and listening skills. Through these classes, I gained a deeper understanding of Japanese culture and language.

In addition to my academic pursuits, I also had the opportunity to visit some famous attractions in Kyoto, including Fushimi Inari Shrine, Arashiyama, Gion Festival, and Tenjin Festival. Each place exuded its unique charm, allowing me to appreciate Japan's history and traditions even more. Participating in traditional festivals like Gion Festival and Tenjin Festival was an unforgettable experience that helped me immerse myself in the enthusiastic and festive atmosphere of the Japanese people.

Living in Japan also taught me valuable skills such as self-reliance and adaptability. Interacting with local classmates and friends not only helped me with language skills, but also taught me how to build friendships and understanding across different cultures.

Overall, this study abroad experience in Japan has been a precious opportunity for personal growth. I look forward to continuing to explore more of Japan's culture and way of life during the remaining time here.

Results of study abroad, future goals

At first, I was puzzled by the differences in language and culture. There were many things I didn't understand, such as how to make a My Number card or cash card, where to pay for health insurance, and what to do if I got sick. However, once I got used to it, it became a good experience where I could grow mentally and discover my own abilities and strengths.

Japan may seem distance from other Asian cultures, but in reality, it is full of diversity, and I encountered wonderful cultures and scenery. There were many events and groups for international students in Kobe, and I often had the opportunity to interact with local people and their culture. Also, I was impressed by the changes in Japan's four seasons, such as the cherry blossoms in spring, the cicadas in summer, the autumn leaves in fall, and the snow in winter, which are special memories for me.

After returning to Taiwan, I want to continue learning Japanese. I want to continue joining Japanese language classes and interacting with conversation partners to make use of and further improve the Japanese language skills I acquired during my studies abroad. In the future, I want to work in a field related to Japan, and acquiring fluent Japanese is an important skill for that purpose.
