Opportunity of the studying abroad, purpose

I majored in Japanese at university because I aspire to become a Japanese teacher in future. Hence presently, I would like to enhance my understanding of Japanese cultures and languages.
One of the reasons I decided to study in Japan was because I think a good learning environment is essential to boosting language acquisition. I also want to engage with Japanese people, study in Japan, and improve my communication and listening skills as a result.
Furthermore, I've been attracted by Japanese language and culture since I was a senior in high school, and I've developed a strong interest in traditional Japanese culture, which includes kimonos, tea ceremonies, and Japanese cuisine. It’d be an amazing experience to physically be at Japan and see its fascinating culture.
I feel fortunate and honored to have been provided with the opportunity to study abroad in Japan as an exchange student. I'll make the most of this year by studying hard in the classroom, improving my Japanese, and learning more about Japanese culture. In the future, I'll go back to my country to promote Japanese culture. If it's possible, I'd like to enroll in a graduate school Japanese class to further my Japanese studies in the near future.

Experience while studying abroad

It has already been eight months since I came to Japan, but I have gained a lot during these six months of study in Japan, not only improving my Japanese conversation skills, but also experiencing various aspects of Japanese culture and life, and living a fulfilling life.
In class, I was exposed to new knowledge that was different from that at Chinese universities, and I often formed groups with Japanese students to exchange opinions and make presentations. I was able to learn a lot from different perspectives and improved not only my language skills but also my thinking and writing skills. I also went to visit university clubs and experienced various Japanese clubs such as Kyudo, Kendo, Yosakoi and baseball. The Japanese students were also very kind and introduced me to various aspects of Japanese society, which allowed me to actively engage in cross-cultural exchange. I also took part in the Japanese cultural training programme offered by the university, visited the Hyogo Ceramic Museum and experienced the Japanese tea ceremony. Furthermore, we visited many unique Japanese places such as Himeji Castle, Kiyomizu Temple and Kinkakuji Temple, and gained a deep understanding of Japanese architecture and shrines.
During these eight months, I participated in various cultural activities and met many Japanese people. I have created a lot of wonderful memories. I am very happy to have come here as an exchange student. I will cherish this and continue to work hard in the remaining months of my stay.

Results of study abroad, future goals

Unknowingly, my exchange year is about to end. During this year, I have met many different people, travelled to many different places and spent many fulfilling days.
Through my time at Hyogo University of Teacher Education, I have grown a lot, from the beginning when I couldn't understand Japanese and was afraid to talk to Japanese, to now when I can actively communicate with Japanese student, with the help of everyone here. I had fun chatting with my tutor every week and learnt a lot about Japanese culture. My friendly family took me to experience Japanese culture from time to time and celebrated my birthday, which was very happy and touching. I also took part in club activities, met many friends, ate and talked with them and made great memories.
After returning to China, I will not forget such a valuable experience and will continue to work hard. If I have the chance, I will study in Japan again.
