Opportunity of the studying abroad, purpose

I studied abroad in New Zealand on exchange for a few months in my last year of high school and at that time, I was fortunately blessed with an environment where only a few Japanese people study and thanks to this environment, my speaking skill skyrocketed whereas I found academic and specific contents a bit challenging. After that, this precious experience motivated me to study overseas for a longer period and to work for a foreign corporation moving forward. Similarly, I would like to make efforts to be a global human resource by interacting with people from different backgrounds, broadening my horizons and deepening the understanding of distinct cultures. Furthermore, my reliable acquaintances are distant from Where I am currently based, accordingly, it requires me to have problem solving skills and for this reason, I would like to get autonomous and lead a self reliant life in Australia.

Experience while studying abroad

Time flies so quickly as it has been four months since I came here. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, I faced a large number of challenges, however,it is tremendously worth being here as I got to know and made heaps of friends from Australia and different countries that I am really close with. At the moment, I am taking tourism, coming into community and communication skills for undergraduate study in this first semester and as my dream is to be a flight attendant moving forward, taking tourism inspired me in all respects. The unit mentioned earlier allows you to go on a field trip somewhere with your partner and explore the unknown. Additionally, there are tons of students who have interests in going on trips or getting away in this unit, for this reason, I highly recommend enrolling in this unit for those who like going on adventures like I do. Apart from units, I went on holiday to Rottnest Island which is home to quokkas ( tiny and adorable rodents) and sits offshore to the city of Perth. I had such a blast there during my study break where loads of breathtaking views and beaches are situated.

Results of study abroad, future goals

Living in Australia got me a doer massively, in particular, a self-organized trip with my friends from all across the world. To begin with, due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, the international centre of Murdoch university made the decision to hold back from organising the Northwest trip during the study break. The reason being the difficulties in booking accommodation for large groups due to the high demand reaching its peak after Western Australia resumed the border opening for not only other states in Australia but overseas. However, I wanted to go on THE trip to make the most of my stay in Australia and make lifelong friends that would last forever. Thus, I planned a trip with my friends, that are also exchange students like me, instead of the traditional trip organized by Murdoch university for about two weeks. To be fair, organizing camp accommodations, itineraries, eateries, and petrol station stops was pretty challenging though it was absolutely rewarding after all. Also, throughout this trip, I have learnt the significance of communication and expressing my thoughts, as Japanese people have a high-context culture. In other words, nothing would start if you do not speak up. Similarly, through this exchange student life, going along with people would kill your personality, which led me to realise the importance of being my individual self. By doing so, I am much happier mentally and have grown strong within myself as a woman.
