I have been studying Japanese for four years until now. But, I still feel that my Japanese language ability is not good enough. For example, I would like to be able to communicate with other person at the time of conversation and how to speak beautiful Japanese. I want to learn Japanese language from various aspects through this program. I would also like to pursue Japanese culture and manners.
And I choose English Communication Faculty at Kansai International University in the exchange study abroad program. Because, Japanese people who are studying English have recently been increasingly and if I study English and Japanese language at the same time, I think grammar and words to be rich , make communication good.
Japanese language and English are very important to me, not only doing the things that happen in the future but the right form of communication is useful. So I would like to do my best to improve not only Japanese Language Skill but also English skill.
It has been six months since I joined Kansai University of International Studies exchange program. Through this program I chose international communication, therefore I studied aling with Japanese students and students from other countries. In our everyday life, Japanese language is the most used during our conversation. However, there are always oppurtunities to use English language with Japanese friends who is trying to learn English language. I think it is such a good opportunity to improve my foreign language skill and sharing cultural knowledge by having a conversation with each others.
It took me two months to get used to living in Japan. It is after all, my experience living in other countries, in the top of that my home country didn’t use Japanese language as it’s first language. Therefore, the daily way of living quickly becomes challenge for me. The biggest challenge of course communicating. At first, I did not have the courage to convey my feeling through Japanese language. However one of reasons to decide to study abroad is to improve my Japanese language skills, that is why I keep on trying to muster the courage to convey my thought. People around me keep giving me courage and motivation, and I started to get braver. I felt that my world keeps getting expanding as I keep learning about Japan and other culture. And besides studying at university, I had the opportunity to enjoy some interesting experiences. I was enjoyed cherry blossom viewing, went to sightseeing spots in Kobe and Kyoto during golden week, watched Bunraku and Kabuki , and enjoyed summer festivals. And then because I am interested in Japanese Calligraphy, I learned basic calligraphy from a Japanese who expert in Calligraphy. I was very happy and lucky, because finally I got to see the live performance of Japanese calligraphers in Osaka.
The Autumn semester is about to begin, and there is only 6 months left for study abroad period. There are still many things I want to do and I want to improve my Japanese and English language skills. Therefore , I will cherish the remaining 6 month period. This past 6 month experience was really great as an foreign student in Japan. From now on, I will move forward toward the same goal.
It has been a year since I joined the exchange program. Whenever I got up in the morning, I felt that the remaining days before returning home were approaching, so I thought that one year was early. Throughout Japan's four seasons, I lived with many challenges, and this exchange study experience has never been forgotten. Actually, studying abroad in Japan was a dream I wrote and pasted on paper two years ago. That dream came true and I was able to have a fun student life.
I have had many wonderful experiences while living in Japan. Not only living in Japanese customs, culture and society, but also understanding what kind of thinking and how to solve problems. It can be said that the current state of Japanese society and Japanese language skills that I have improved. And when I learned English communication, I got a lot of advice from American teachers, and I could write and speak in English better and better than before.
And the other thing I was learned about how to protect the environment. Starting with separating garbage, we use only as much gas and electric water as we can, and have the consciousness of cleaning the environment in one's living while emphasizing teamwork, include systematic cleaning of the surrounding environment. I was impressed by that. So, I understand why Japan's environment is beautiful. In that regard, I would like to go to graduate school to study on the theme of human environment. In the future, I would like to improve the environment in my country and maintain a friendly relationship with Japan. I want to do my best to achieve that goal.
I also had a great deal of valuable experience in studying at Kansai International University with the support of HUMAP. Thank you very much. The friendly teachers, staff and friends of this campus were friendly. I've had many good encounters in the past year, but it's really hard to get away from everyone in here. I return to my country, but I feel that I will continue to be connected to the people I met in Japan. Thank you for everything.
