Motive:
I first met foreign friends through an international exchange program at Pukyong University.
I was learned about Japanese kindness and new culture.
So I thought it would be nice to have an exchange program that allows me to study Japanese with my studies by living in an environment surrounded by the language of the country, and I applied for it.
Purpose:
I would like to a variety of activities to improve my language skills and develop myself, and first of all, I would like to try out the tea ceremony and volunteer activities in Japan.
The reason is that I like to drink a wide variety of tea sometimes and I am very interested in learning Japanese rituals. And I think that if i do that, they will show me experiences and new landscapes that are not known as simple foreign tourists.
Next , I would like to go to Japan, which is close but far away, and improve my planning ability while living alone.
I was always a little worried when I actually encountered the problem. But when I tried to solve that problem, most of it was smaller than I thought, and even the bigger one was a good foundation for my life. I think this will be a good experience.
It was homestay that made up a lot of the life of an exchange student at Hyogo University. Although I was worried that it was my first homestay life, I was able to experience a lot of things because it was Kazumi who experienced foreigners from various nationalities at the homestay. When I went to a local senior citizens' association and explained about Korea, I asked and answered questions about the differences between Korea and Japan regarding the military, food culture and mindset. And there would be many things I wouldn't experience if I didn't homestay such as see performance in a small bar of Kobe Sanomiya or see the exhibition of paintings. Also, I applied for the hyogo university's traditional tea club because I wanted to have a new cultural experience with many students. I was worried that I could get along as a short-term student, but I learned a lot because everyone was kind enough to teach me. It was a valuable experience for me because my teacher praised me for helping me with events in Kokoen, Himeji Province, and Kobe International Exchange Center.
It was a short time to look back after the exchange student life, but I think I learned a lot. Before I started something new, I had a lot of questions about my ability to be stuck in various obstacles, including life and communication in other countries. But eventually I realized it was a useless idea. At first, I went to the store and didn't understand what the clerk was saying and asked again and again and I was embarrassed because there were a few things I didn't know. To that end, I tried to have as many conversations as possible at my homestay and universiy's club. In the cultural sector, I planned to travel by itself, created various experiences in Kyushu (Kagoshima, Kumamoto, Fukuoka) and Okayama. It was an experience that I couldn't have done without studying in Japan. And I will never forget the many experiences and ties I gained from Japanese life in my future life.
