I have two main reason why I go to study abroad. They are to increase my English skills and cultural understandings.
Language is configured by reading, listening, writing and speaking. I have studied English for about 10 years but there are limit in text books. In my opinion, studying abroad is the hardest and also the fastest way to increase language skills especially writing and speaking.
Cultural understanding is really important because it is globalized society now. We should respect and understand any cultures. Sometimes the difference cause some problems. I will talk many people from many cultures in Waikato university.
I hope I will be able to fix this sentences one year later.

　After arriving in New Zealand, nine months have passed. This year, due to COVID-19, a lot of things have changed and my experiences seem to be different from ordinary ones.
There were so many international students, including Japanese, in pathway college and university. However, because of the lockdown and closed international airline, lots of students returned to their home countries.
While we are locked down, classes were provided in Zoom and after finishing lockdown, we have face-to-face classes. Now, December 2020, COVID alert level is at level-1 and we are spending mostly normal lives at school and also daily lives.
About study, there is no problem. I got a hundred score in the listening section in midterm exam on current level6. In a classroom, there are people who are from a lot of areas such as Asia, south America, and middle eastern. I am experiencing and learning a variety of ways to think and cultural differences.

I had a very interesting and strange experience in New Zealand in 2020. College had significantly changed. There had been a lot of people, but it was so silent after COVID-19 isolation.
My journey was way different from what I imagined. However, some experiences, such as classes in which we use zoom, must be the one I need in this changed world. Therefore I believe my abnormal experiences were good. Because class had changed from a lot of people to a few members, it was a very good environment to know about classmates’ personalities and their cultures so much even though there was no freshness.
I cannot think about my future clearly as the world has completely changed. However, one of my goals is to work on a cruise ship because I can go to many countries and interact with a lot of people from many countries.
